My first running event with Trent. Before the race, a elderly gentleman told me that the first time his ex-wife supported him in a race, he was so happy to see her as he crossed the finish line that tears went down his cheeks. This is Trent crossing the finish line tearless. Oh well, maybe next time. Check out his cool yellow shoes.Sunday, August 26, 2007

Update
Trent and I are finally done with studying for the boards and we are ecstatic. We started our oral surgery rotation this week at Columbia and the Bronx VA and are glad to be seeing patients for the first time. My experience has been fun and challenging so far. Most of my day consists of suctioning blood, listening to the veteran's life stories, and convincing them that I am not in high school. I was able to extract a 2nd molar and half a canine during my first week, which isn't a bad start. Hopefully, I will get more hands on experience the next few weeks.
Some notes on our August visitors.
Elaine came a few weeks before our exam and interviewed at several hospitals. They called her a few days ago about a job contract so congrats to her.
Mom and Melissa came last Saturday and left yesterday. We went out to eat with them a few times and she checked out our apartment for the first time. She loved the view of the bridge and river and actually slept over on Friday. Mom hasn't been back to NY since 1998, and she had tons of fun catching up with friends and eating with them. This is probably her first real vacation in 15 years and I am happy that she enjoyed the trip so much.
Tia is with us for another week and she has been keeping herself busy cleaning and dusting our apartment. Mom was definitely suspicious of the organization of my place but realized quickly that Tia was reason for it. WST definitely makes a good housewife!!!!!!! Yesterday, we watched 4 movies and checked out a Malaysian restaurant in Ctown. I cooked a huge breakfast this morning and we spent the entire afternoon running around the lake in Central park and getting groceries at Whole Foods. We are planning to try some Greek or Ethiopian food, go shopping with Aunt Sue, and throw in some kayaking sometime this week. >
Mom treated us to our favorite Italian restaurant. We had pasta and pizza, too bad we don't have any pics of her and Melissa.
